Summary: A booklet accompanying a collection of slides illustrating the history of the Jews of Werne, in the Münster region (47 Jews in 1933). Pp. 5-11 survey the problem of residence permits for Jews in the 16th century; the process of emancipation; and the Nazi period, on which almost the only source of information is the reminiscences of Jews who survived in emigration. According to one of these, all but two of Werne's seven Jewish families perished in the Holocaust.
