"Though it is not to issue from the press under the immediate sanction of the University of Pennsylvania, yet it will constitute a 'Thesaurus medicus' of that institution." - Preliminary discourse. Each thesis has special half title, including thesis note. Vol. 1 includes as appendix An experimental inquiry, respecting the vitality of the blood (p. [353]-395) by Charles Caldwell, comprising three lectures delivered at the infirmary of the Philadelphia Almshouse. The prefatory note is dated Jan. 1, 1805. Vol. 1: xii, 395, [1] p. ; v. 2: [8], 396 [i.e., 398] p. Last page of v. 1 blank. Errors in paging: v. 2: p. 162-200, 201-398 misnumbered 161-199, 199-396, p. 213, 259 misnumbered 113, 269.
