Item Description: The Convention was called in accordance with a resolution passed May 14, 1827, by the Pennsylvania Society for the Promotion of Manufactures and the Mechanic Arts, its purpose being "to take into consideration the present state of the wool-growing and wool-manufacturing interest, and such other manufactures as may require encouragement ..."--p. 5.
