"Some account of the Pennsylvania hospital", of which this is the continuation, was published anonymously by Franklin, 1754. The "Continuation" was not written by Franklin, but was issued by the Managers of the hospital, and prepared by the committee on publication, of which Samuel Rhoads was chairman. It was originally issued in a separate volume, although paged continuously with Franklin's "Some account ... [etc.]"--Cf. Evans, Amer. bibl., no. 7197; and Morton, The history of the Pennsylvania hospital, 1895, p. 48. |
