Includes views of Calder statues, the library reading room, the operative clinic in the dental school, the X-ray lab at the veterinary hospital, and the landscaping of Franklin Field. Other Franklin Field images show the stadium exterior, marching drills, spectators, and the construction of the River Field locker house. Valley Forge property given to the University is also depicted. Many images emphasize the impact of the second World War. Views of ROTC training for the Army and the Navy show reviews and inspections, calisthenics, and war games. Items of note portray lessons in emergency swimming, a bomb explosion demonstration, target practice, wearing gas masks, and classes in self defense. Shows the conversion of the basketball court to a mess hall, and the mess hall in use. Also contains group portraits of the medical hospital unit. Campus life is illustrated with images of Alumni Day, the Cane March, commencement, Founders Day, Hey Day, Ivy Day, the Junior Prom, May Day, and the Pirate Ball. The Bicentennial celebration is given attention with views of an academic procesion, a ceremony in the quad and in Convention Hall, and fundraisisn activities. Other student images depict a fashion show, foreign students, freshmen kissing the Franklin statue, ringing the College Hall bell, opening day, sorority activities, the rowbottom student riots, and other miscellaneous subjects.
