Summary: |
Samuel Booth Sturgis, a Philadelphia physician, served as an officer in the Huguenot Society of Pennsylvania and in the National Huguenot Society. The collection deals primarily with these two societies, and includes correspondence, reports, and minutes. The collection consists of members lists (with their earliest ancestor who qualifies them for Huguenot Society membership) and of pastors. There is also a political series of resolutions passed by the National Huguenot Society's California branch in 1958, expressing right-wing positions on the U.S. Supreme Court, Social Security, and other matters (Box 2 Folder 3). The additions include one box and includes printed material, original writing and poetry, and correspondence. |
