Summary: Some of these engravings appear to be those used for the printing of paper money. Other engravings depict Victorian images of love and romance, as well as various members of European royal families. There are also several images of Benjamin Franklin, as well as a note that is ostensibly signed by Franklin accusing a member of British Parliament of having the blood of his relations on his hands. Some of the engravings appear to be part of a satirical series, surrounding the exploits of a character named Doctor Syntax. There are two envelopes with loose images found in the volume, and these all appear to be early 20th century pictures clipped from magazines. The engravings pasted into the volume itself appear to be significantly older, and the date of the volume puts them around 1830.
