He was a founder of the Sketch Club and one of the original members of the Penn Club. Scrapbooks contain Clark's letters to his parents while serving on the United States Frigate Niagara and later the United States Steam Sloop of War Pawnee, 1861-1864. Other documents concerning his military career include orders, warrants of appointments and a grant for leave of absence. Also included are several forms and letters regarding Clark's application of prize money for the capture of the "Hattie" by the USS Pawnee. Clark was awarded $96.07. Most of the newsclippings are obituary notices of his death, along with condolence letters to his wife and an excerpt from the memoirs of his brother. There are also several photographs, including portraits of Clark in uniform and in his later years as well as an image of the starboard battery of the USS Pawnee.
