520 |a This donation is comprised of (1) one folder of legal and political papers, 1867-1889, of Hon. William Ward, a Republican Congressmen from Pennsylvania--he resided for a time in Chester, Delaware County--who served from 1877 to 1883. Most of the the papers are letters to Ward from other members of Congress and his constituents. And (2), a large genealogical album containing an extensive family tree of the Quaker ancestors of one Francis Clarkson Pennell, born April 4, 1926. The tree covers a number of different families dating back to the late 1600s. Names include Pennell, Clarkson, Sharpless, Cox, Cresson, Yarnall, and many others. The volume also contains some notes taken from Henry D. Paxson's "Where Pennsylvania History Began," and a drawing of the Sheppard family coat of arms.
