Summary: The family history material in this donation was collected by the donor and her sisters in preparation for their two-volume work "Our Fulton and Westhafer Ancestors Who Came to America and Thrived." The Fulton family represented here originated in update New York but eventually settled in and around Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The materials area arranged into five binders, starting with the earliest generation (Volume I) of John Fulton (1740-1832) of Ireland and Elizabeth (Teator) Fulton (1747-1816) of New York, and ending with Ross Albert Fulton (1874-1946) and Grace Ivy (Faling) Fulton (1868-1964), both of Harrisburg. Papers within each binder are then further organizaed by family member, and among them copies of birth, death, and marriage records; family trees and reports; and original documents. There are also copies made from various family history publications, web print-outs, church records, building preservation reports, military records, and clippings. The Westhafer family represented here originated in Germany, with members immigrating to and settling in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in the 1700s. The materials are arranged into seven binders, starting with the earliest generation (Volume I) of Johann Valentine Westhoeffer/Westhafer (1703-1785) and Anna Christina Soudreiter/Sandritter (1713-1773), both of Germany; and ending with John Quincy Adams Westhafer (1867-1919) of Lancaster County and Lillie Day Hoover (1879-1968) of York County (PA). Papers within each binder are organized by family member, and among them are copies of birth, death, and marriage records; family trees and reports; and original documents. There are also copies made from various family history publications, web print-outs, church records, building preservation reports, military records, and clippings.
