He immigrated to the United States in the early 20th century, and he lived and worked in Philadelphia, marrying resident Bertha Brown (1904-1992). He was a member of the Elisavetgrad Beneficial Association, which was eventually merged into the United Jewish Organizations. The donation consists of the following: an undated photograph of the Verbitsky family in Russia; and undated photograph of Bernard Verbit and Bertha Brown; Bernard’s 1939 alien registration application and his 1940 naturalization certificate; a 1935 invitation to a dinner held by the Elisavetgrad Beneficial Association featuring Bernard Verbit; and a landing card for “Boris Verbitski dated 1921.
