Jones' health/home recipe book for treatments of ailments and diseases and other 19th century challenges; and it spans the middle of the 1800s including the Civil War years. Over 600 formulas are numbered in the volume. Included are recordings of family births, marriages, and deaths along with events such as the death of the 'Hon. Henry Clay died at Washington, D.C. on June 29th, 1852 17 minutes after 11 o'clock in the morning in the seventy sixth year of his age.'
