Physical Description Note: Daguerreotype had no cover but is in a special enclosure. It is clear with some spotting. The cabinet card is also stable but is worn along the edges. The playbill is fragile but stable (and rolled).

Summary: This donation consists of three items. There is a cabinet card and daguerreotype of Captain Edward Ewing Williams who served with the 114th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. The third item is a rolled playbill from the Academy of Music. It dates from 24 September 1861 and advertises the "Drill and Musical Entertainments of the Zouaves D'Afrique" (the 114th PA Regiment). The 114th was mustered on 17 August 1861 under the direction of Charles T. Collis. It was in service until 1865, fought at the Battle of Gettysburg, and took on numerous skirmishes throughout Maryland and Virginia.
