Summary: Image: 1/2 plate; Reproduction of a photograph as evidenced by paper mat visible along bottom edge of plate; Six seated women, one standing man and three standing women on the lawn of a cemetery, the man wearing a top hat, a long dark jacket, light trousers, a white shirt with a dark tie, holding an umbrella, the woman all dressed in light dresses with shawls, hats and bonnets, color applied to the brick wall behind them. Preserver: Straight but more ornate (1850s). Mat: Oval with matte finish and simple embossed design (1850). Case: Marbelized leather-covered wood-frame embossed with the scarce "The Music Lyre" design (Berg No. 4-5) on both the front and back, with a red velvet pinchpad, and a red velvet cushion embossed with a floral design (ca. 1854).
