Item Description: Edited by John Parke, who was responsible for some of the translations and original poems. Includes also translations of classical poets other than Horace, and both original poems and translations by other hands than Parke's. Some of the translations are in fact paraphrases, adapted to the circumstances of American history and dedicated to well-known Americans.
