Included in the collection are interior and exterior views of the Mercersburg Academy Chapel, general and bird's-eye views of the Academy and grounds, exteriors of the Administrative building and the sunken gardens, particularly views of the old well, surrounding the building, the Academy Gardens, exteriors of Old Main and Main Hall, exterior shots of the Carl Lewis Nolde Gymnasium, Keil Hall, South Cottage, Laucks Hall, North Cottage (home of the Head Master), the Eighty-Eight Dormitory, the Annex, the trophy case and the interior or a sun room. Administrators depicted include the Rev. F. Boyd Edwards, Mrs. Boyd Edwards, William Mann Irvine and Camille Hart Irvine. A memorial to the Irvines is shown as well. Other portraits include group portraits of various athletic teams including the 1927 swim team, the 1927 track team and the 1927 and 1928 football squad. The athletic field is also depicted. Mercersburg views include a mountain view with a monument to President Buchanan's birthplace and the Mercersburg water supply. | ||
