520 |a The Associated Polish Home was founded in Philadelphia in 1900 as a gathering place for Polish Americans to celebrate holidays, maintain a library, and hold social and cultural events. The Associated Polish Home housed several Polish-American organizations, such as the Adam Mickiewicz Polish Language School, Paderewski Cultural Society, Polish National Alliance, and American Relief for Poland Immigration Committee. The collection contains three volumes that appear to be journals kept by the American Relief for Poland Immigration Committee, recording sponsorship of displaced persons. There is also a catalog of books in the Nicetown Sokol Library Catalog, as well miscellaneous correspondence and other items removed from the volumes.
