Summary: Commonplace books, 1821-1853, chiefly containing poems, with pressed flowers, extracts from sermons, two printed prayer cards in French from 1861, and some newspaper clippings. The leather cover of Volume 1 is embossed with the name "Rebecca Wells," although it appears to have belonged to Annie W. Fisher. Volume 2 is inscribed "To Mary H. Wells from Redwood Fisher, Trenton, 10 March, 1822" and contains letterhead from Union Hall, Saratoga Springs, New York. Both volumes are filled with poems and other literary extracts. One volume includes many Percy Shelley poems, as well as John Keats' "Ode to a Nightingale." It is unclear whether any of the poems in the volume are original, because some do not have attributions.
