Summary: Marion Sheldon Boyde (Mrs. Howard Boyde) was a puppeteer who created a local act called "Marianne Marionettes." She performed at various locales in the 1930s and 1940s, including the Musical Fund Hall, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Public Ledger Building, and the Chestnut Street Playhouse. Boyde made all of her puppets and, as well, wrote all the scripts that she performed. In the collection are loose pages from a scrapbook that she may have made on to which are pasted photographs, programs, ribbons, flyers, and other papers. Many of the photographs are labeled to show which of Boyde's plays they depict. There are additional loose photographs showing Boyde with her puppets, along with a few additional programs and announcements, along with two issues of a magazine titled "The Hobby Parade," Fall 1939 and Winter 1939-1940.
