Summary: This donation consists of papers, photographs, and books of the Loos (or Loose) family of Berks County, Pennsylvania. Photographs comprise most of the collection, and the document the family, as well as, to a lesser extent, other related families such as the Dreibelbises and Altenderfers, from the late ninteenth century to the late twentieth century. The types of photographs ran from cabinets cards and tintyptes to Kodak color photos. The next largest section of items are books that were collected by members of the Loos family, a number of which relate to service in the U. S. armed forces in the mid twentieth century. Rounding out the collection is a small selection of miscellaneous family papers, which includes correspondence, vital records, certificates, diplomas, and diaries, among other items.
