Summary: Incorporated in 1969, the Shackamaxon Society was a non-profit entity organized to "promote interest in the history and development of the city, the restoration of Fort Mifflin and to assist in the development of historical sites where-ever situated." Material includes correspondence and newsclippings regarding their restoration efforts at Fort Mifflin, a copy of the certificate of incorporation, newsclippings and miscellaneous documents concerning some of their other civic actitivites. The bulk of the collection consists of response cards to the May 21, 1967 Tench Tilghman Day event hosted by this society.
