He researched the Lippincott, O'Neill, and related families. The formal culmination of his work on the Lippincott side was the publication of a book, Descendants of Joshua Ballinger Lippincott of Burlington County, New Jersey and Josephine Craige His Wife of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: A Line Chart 1813-1992. The collection consists of original and copies of vital records of family members, research notes, O'Neill's correspondence with both family members and the various professional genealogists he engaged, photographs of family members, places and items of importance to the family, a videotape of a family reunion, publications, including Bertram's book, miscellaneous records, and one artifact, a school medal awarded to Bertram's grandfather, William C. O'Neill.
