description Contains the unbounded former volume 3 of the extra illustrated version of John Galt&rsquo;s <em>The Life, Studies, and Works of Benjamin West</em>: pages 1, 8, 51, 53, 81, 86, 88.<br /> <br /> Contains prints of portraits and a landscape, and original artwork. Original artwork includes <em>A Sketch for the Demoniac, Introduced in the Picture of Christ Healing the Sick, which Mr. West presented to the Hospital at Philadelphia</em>, an ink and sepia wash drawing dated 1815 that is a study for the painting <em>Christ Healing the Sick in the Temple</em>, completed in 1817 and given to the Pennsylvania Hospital. The demoniac was intended to represent the hospital&rsquo;s treatment of the mentally ill. The other original artwork in this folder is titled<em> The Resurrection, A study for the picture which was painted for the Church at Barbadoes</em>, a drawing in crayon and wash, the completed painting is at St. George&rsquo;s Church in Barbados.
