The Watson's are an African American family, who primarily resided in parts of Delaware County, Pennsylvania (including Newtown Square and Chester), Philadelphia, parts of New Jersey (including Asbury Park and Monmouth County) and New York City. This bible contains genealogical data documenting births between 1832-1913; marriages between 1862-1930; and deaths between 1852-1919. Within this data is a death record for Henry Burton, who was also found in the Pennsylvania Abolition Society 1838 Census. Burton was listed with an unnamed female, along with data indicating that one of them paid $100 to buy his or her freedom. - see 'Watson Narrative' by Dr. Delores Walters, PhD.
