Summary: (1) Photograph depicts portrait of Dr. Earl Danford (Danforth) Bond.  Dr. Bond was a psychiatrist practicing at Pennsylvania Hospital.  A graduate from Harvard Medical School in 1908, Bond’s accomplishments include first Professor of Psychiatry at the Graduate School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, first chair member in the Department of Psychiatry, Physician-in-Chief and Administrator of the Department for Mental and Nervous Diseases at Pennsylvania Hospital (1922-1938), director of the Pennsylvania Hospital’s Institute for Mental Hygiene (1930), and the accolade of the Bok Award (also known as Philadelphia Award) (1933).
