This donation consists of approximately forty-five envelopes and three binders of genealogical research materials Rex Brook Tomlinson compiled on the Brook and Tomlinson families as well as numerous related families, including the Lascomb, Laning, and Souplis families.
Each envelope or binder is labeled with a surname and an index card that contains further information on that particular family or family member. The papers are comprised of handwritten notes; photocopies of vital records, clippings, and book passages; and print-outs of family trees, emails, and compiled notes. In most cases the origin (i.e. Historical Society of Pennsylvania, Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania) of the records is noted along with the donor's findings.
This collection includes genealogical research materials on the Tomlinson family and other related families who were from Philadelphia or surrounding counties with roots in France or England. Materials include handwritten notes; photocopies of vital records, clippings, and book passages; and print-outs of family trees, emails, and compiled notes. |
