Summary: Newspapers, magazines, souvenirs, etc. documenting the Democratic National Convention, held in Philadelphia on July 25-28, 2016. Public media includes not only the mainstream Philadelphia Inquirer but also the local gay [Philadelpha Gay News], Hispanic [Al Dia], commuter [Philly Metro], neighbourhood [Philadelphia Free Press], Hipster [Philadelphia Weekly] and Anarchist [Un-Conventional Times] newspapers. Hillary Clinton was nominated for president, the first time a woman has been nominated such by a major political party. Included in this collection is also information on PoliticalFest (a city-wide display of political memorabilia, which HSP participated in). Other major speakers at the Convention were: Michelle Obama, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Bill Clinton. Everybody's foil was, of course, Donald Trump. This artificial collection includes articles written about the happenings at the convention as well as whimsical images of the major speakers. Included also are realia of Hillary and Bernie (bobble-heads), Hillary and Barack (finger-puppets) and Hillary and Donald (fridge magnets made locally in Pennsylvania). Other whimsy include Hillary and Donald paper dolls.
