Shows pickets outside plants, and pickets at the White House, as well as views of the wives and children of picketers. Depicts the exteriors of many industrial buildings and empty coal cars and yards. Emphasis is placed on activities in Wilkes Barre, Pa. Early views illustrate National Guard involvement in strikes. Also documents an incident in Philadelphia when strike sympathizers attacked a coal delivery truck at 23rd and Pine Streets. Views depict children gathering coal, the damaged truck, and spectators. Another image shows police guarding a coal truck.
