Depicts the exteriors of many industrial buildings and empty coal cars and yards. Emphasis is placed on activities in Wilkes Barre, Pa. Early views illustrate National Guard involvement in strikes. Shows strikers wounded in rioting and the use of tear gas. Portrays more peaceful strikers waiting idly, gardening, and playing cards. Also documents an incident in Philadelphia when strike sympathizers attacked a coal delivery truck at 23rd and Pine Streets. Views depict children gathering coal, the damaged truck, and spectators. Another image shows police guarding a coal truck.
