Summary: Depicts all aspects of mumming in Philadelphia including string bands, comics, floats and spectators at parades. Many parade views taken near City Hall on New Year's Day, as well as at the Democratic and Republican National Convention and the U.S. Constitution Sesquicentennial. Shows preparations for parades like costume sewing, float building, and other club events. Many themes relate to World War II. Of note are images of spectators standing on baskets to see the mummers. Also documents the mummers at the 1939 World's Fair in New York. Includes views of Quaker City String Band costumes ruined by fire.
