An account of the trial of Thomas Cooper, of Northumberland : on a charge of libel against the President of the United States, taken in short hand with a preface, notes, and appendix /
In April 1800, Thomas Cooper was tried in federal court in Philadelphia for libel against the President of the United States under the new Sedition Act of 1798. Cooper proceeded to publish all documents and transcripts, along with commentary, as soon as the trial ended.
