Residences include Greenland, the Edgar Allen Poe House, the Edwin Forrest House, and the Chamounix Mansion. Also shown are Independence Hall, Girard College, Germantown Academy, Mikveh Israel Cemetery, Musical Fund Hall, Pennsylvania Hospital, and various fire stations. Also contains images of libraries, theaters, hotels, and taverns. Many of the prints are accompanied by short essays describing the building, its occupants, and its history. Copies of the essays are also assembled in a bound volume. |
