Volume one, for vessels entering Philadelphia, includes from whence the ship came, date of entry at the port of Philadelphia, and dates of certificates granted to cancel bonds. Volume two, for vessels leaving from Philadelphia, notes date of clearing the port of Philadelphia and whither the ship was bound. In addition, both volumes provide names of vessels, names of masters, tons, guns, men, when and where built, when and where registered, owners' names, type and quantity of cargoes, signature of master, when and where bond was given.
