%0 Manuscript %G English %T Richard Vaux letterbook, Northumberland County land warrants, and Germantown Monthly meeting letter 1701, 1774, 1782-1783 %X Comprising this donation is the following: Richard Vaux letterbook, 1782-1783, containing copies of letters from Richard Vaux (1751-1790), a Philadelphia merchant who dealt with trans-Atlantic trade, while overseas in places such as London, Ostend, and Saint Thomas, to various business partners; two 1774 land warrants issued to Benjamin Chew and Joseph Shippen Jr., respectively, for the survey of unimproved lands in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania; and a contemporary copy of a 1701 handwritten letter from the Germantown Meeting to the London Meeting stating that Letitia Penn, William Penn's daughter, is a person of good standing so that she can join their meeting when the Penn family arrives in England.
