Summary: |
This collection consists primarily of postcards sent between various members of the Dietz family from the early 1940s through to the early 1960s. Paul and Bertha Dietz of Philadelphia lived at 7410 Tabor Road in Philadelphia. Paul Dietz's parents were Max and Matilda Dietz, who lived at 1346 Earl Street in Philadelphia. Paul had a brother named Emil, and Bertha had a sister named Carrie.
There are almost 400 items in the collection, and most of the cards were exchanged between Paul and Bertha Dietz and their children; Paul Jr., Robert, Albert, Doris and Charles as well as Paul’s brother Emil. These postcards feature locations from all over the United States and even Europe, on occasion. The remainder consists of correspondence from various friends of Paul and Bertha as well as a considerable number of blank postcards. Occasionally, souvenir books of cards also appear in this collection. |
