People documented include prominent national and local figures, from Calvin Coolidge, Woodrow Wilson and Senator Joseph R. Grundy to Walt Whitman, Ethel Waters and Marian Anderson. The collection also consists of an array of events and other topics, from catastrophes to parades, as well as stories on diseases, aviation, labor and liquor. Within each category of people or subject, news clippings are arranged alphabetically. Most of the clippings appear to be from the Record, however, other papers are also represented, such as The New York Herald. |
