Summary: This collection consists of three volumes. Two are diaries, 1878-1880 and 1886-87. Authorship is unclear. It appears that the writer was somewhere in central Pennsylvania when the first diary was written. Based on locations cited in the second diary, the latter was written in Philadelphia. The third volume is a photo album containing cyanotypes and black and white photographs. Depicted in these photos are individual and group portraits, Christmas celebrations and vacation shots, including Quebec, and a variety of rail-related photographs, including trains, stations, and tunnel and bridge construction.
