Summary: |
This collection consists primarily of correspondence from William Keebler to his father, William F. Keebler during his six-years in the U.S. Army from 1939-1945. The letters describe life in various stateside Army posts including a short period in the Pacific theater during 1945. Addionally, he mentions family matters including his relationship with his sister Thelma. Early in his Army career, his duties were mostly clerical, but he earned a Bronze Star for his participation in the Pacific towards the end of his 6-year Army career. He was discharged from the 10th Army with a rank of Private First Class on 9 October 1945. |
