Preserver: Straight but more ornate (1850s). Mat: Double elliptical with matte surface (mid 1840s - mid 1850s). Case: Leather-covered wood-frame half-case embossed with a floral design, with and exterior and interior gilded edge trim, and a red velvet pinchpad (ca. 1850). |
