Summary: The Albert E. Dutrieuille Catering records document business activities between 1920 and 1957. Two daybooks and a financial ledger make up the largest and most useful part of the records. These volumes and the materials interleaved in them- correspondence, receipts, invoices, and news- shows the daily transactions and activities of the firm for the early part of Albert E. Dutreiuille's career. Other items include a few brief biographies of the Dutrieuille family's personal correspondence, and newsclippings related to African American affairs.
African Americans of French West Indian descent, the Dutrieuille family owned and operated a successful family catering business in Philadelphia from 1873 to 1967. The collection contains daybooks, a ledger, correspondence, biographies, and the original lease for the building.
